Javea, an Idyllic Location for Sports

Aside from the yachting club, Javea has fantastic facilities for all kinds of water sports. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, paddle surfing, water skiing, swimming, jet skiing and motorboats are just some of the activities on offer in the town. Other options include diving or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters of Cala de la Granadella or Cala Blanca. Alternatively, you could go canoeing to El Arenal beach or to El Montañar by kayaking along the cliffs and protected areas, such as La Cueva Tallada.
El Montgó National Park
El Montgó is one Javea’s main natural treasures. This mountain range was declared as a National Park in 1987 and offers numerous options for activities like climbing, hiking, trekking or mountain biking. This area, located between Denia and Javea, also offers great routes to enjoy with the family.
However, Javea is much more than sea and mountains. In this Alicante town, you will also find clubs and facilities for other sports such as horse riding, tennis or golf.
Aside from being the birthplace of top athletes like tennis player David Ferrer or cyclist Juan Ayuso, Javea has also become a key training location for some of the best teams from the UCI World Tour, such as the UAE Team Emirates, the AG2R or the Astaná. In fact, together with Juan Ayuso, the Slovene champion of the last two Tours de France, Tadej Pogacar, regularly comes to this area to train.
